JVC has released a new set of fold-up, light-weight headphones, ideal for phone use, in its Bi-Metal line of in-ear canal units. Known as the JVC HA-SX500. The new headphones are apparently based upon a new, large, 16mm neodymium driver unit. It's main advantage is that it can handle more power but is, at the same time, more sensitive - improving sound quality.
This new drive unit is contained within a steel base and a high-specific-gravity brass ring which prevents vibration. It's also full of rubber joints which, in addition to further preventing noise, also increases comnfort. There is no details as yet on a UK release but the equivalent UK price would reach around £40.
