A new ad-funded content trial will give 800,000 Orange customers the option of downloading music for free or at a discounted rate. Launched on the Orange World mobile internet platform, users will endure various advertising banners during the download process, but in exchange they will have access to over 500 music tracks.
Managing the trial is mobile advertising company ScreenTonic who have already signed Paramount Pictures and Ford. The 800,000 customers were chosen by Orange as the activity on their phones showed they had an interest in downloading music. The trial began this week and will run for the next three months.
