Nokia to reward amateur filmmakers

Nokia is encouraging people to record a two-minute video clip as part of global event Pangea Day. The videos must be based on an act of kindness, someone inspiring, the best part of the day, or something that makes you smile, and should be uploaded to Nokia's Share on Ovi service, where five finalists will be chosen. The lucky five, chosen by online voting, will then be flown to Los Angeles where Pangea Day is taking place.

Entries can be submitted to www.ovi.vom/pangeaday until 15 April. Pangea Day aims to encourage people to view the world through someone else's eyes through the power of film and has been created by award-winning documentary filmmaker Jehane Noujaim and Nokia. The winner of the 2008 Nokia Mobile Filmmaking Awards is being announced live during the four-hour broadcast on 10 May.
