Sony Ericsson PlayNow bags 5 million new tracks

Sony Ericsson's download service, PlayNow is to be revamped offering customers even more choice. In a deal with some of the largest music labels, including Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and EMI, users will be able to download tracks over-the-air direct to their handsets.


In addition, PlayNow Uncut (formerly M-Buzz) will help promote new, unsigned and developing artists. The highest rated and most listened to tracks will be made available for sale alongside established artists in the music section of the PlayNow arena. The service is also adding 250 new mobile games, as well as ringtones, themes and wallpapers.
