Launched worldwide today, the Pinger service lets you leave a voice message when you don't have the time or inclination for a full conversation.
By calling your local Pinger number (in the UK, ring 0203 051 0981), you can leave a voice message up to five minutes long. Pinger will then text the recipient (or multiple recipients) to let them know that a voice message is waiting for them. As a result, the service allows the user to send mass voice messages to groups of people, all for the cost of a single local call.
Recipients will only be charged a local rate number to call to pick up their Pinger voice messages, even when abroad.
Pinger also offers voice recognition, so the next time you want to send someone a voice message, simply state their name after ringing the local Pinger number.
