HTC launches new broadband Touch mobile

The new HTC Touch Dual is a Windows powered smartphone that features the same Touch Flo 'gesture recognition' technology that featured on the original HTC Touch. However, the new device combines its touchscreen technology with a sliding keypad, which enables users to tap in phone numbers and texts in the conventional fashion.

Mobile Choice got to grips with a live working sample of the new Touch Dual at the HTC press event which took place in London this morning and we can report that it's a fabulous looking smartphone and significantly more capable than the original Touch (800,000 of which have been shipped since it launched earlier this year).

In addition to the sliding keypad, the Touch Dual also boasts HSDPA connectivity (the original Touch was EDGE) and an improved user interface.

As the number of touchscreen operated handsets continues to grow, HTC has remained faithful to Touch Flo technology, which enables finger touch scrolling and browsing of web pages, documents, messages and contacts lists.
