UK networks support mobile service payment scheme

The cost of downloading video clips or email subscriptions will be charged direct to the consumer's mobile bill, rather than sending a series of premium text messages. The scheme is aimed to increase consumer confidence when making online payments via your mobile and we suspect, to increase revenue for these service providers.

All UK mobile network operators support the Payforit scheme, but O2 is the first to use it as a mandatory requirement for any payment up to £10. Payments will be confirmed by Payforit direct to your mobile phone screen. The scheme is eventually hoping to be able to cover more expensive services such as purchasing train tickets.
