Keep track of eBay bids via your mobile phone

With a global customer base of 266 million users, eBay is the world's largest online marketplace and they have now teamed up with mBlox, the world's largest mobile transaction network. The service allows users to monitor and participate in the online bidding process, even when they are away from their PC.

Users can track their bids by receiving "outbid" alerts direct to their phone via text message. They are then able to increase their bid by texting back. Originally launched in Spain in September 2006, the UK service will cost 12p (plus VAT) per message and will also be available in France and Belgium. eBay customers will be given the option to continue monitoring their bids when they log into their usual eBay account. The service can be used on any mobile phone.
