Nokia warns of faulty battery in 46m phones

Nokia's product advisory, issued today, relates to the Nokia-branded BL-5C battery, which was manufactured by Japan's Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006.
Nokia has identified that, in rare cases, the BL-5C batteries could experience overheating caused by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge.
To date, Nokia said that approximately 100 people had reported incidents while charging the battery, and added that customers may request a replacement for the BL-5C battery. See below for the full list of Nokia phone models that include the battery.
For more details, consumers should visit the website www.nokia.com/batteryreplacement or contact their local Nokia call centre.
