Sony Ericsson launches new Cybershot camera phone

With the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot K850i due to launch later this year and the K810i still near the top of the best-sellers charts, you could forgive the manufacturer for a little laurel resting. But, Sony Ericsson didn't get where it is today by basking in past glories. The new 3G-enabled K770i is 14.5mm slim and comes in truffle brown, which sounds a little odd, but it does seem to work.
We've occasionally needled Sony Ericsson for producing fabulous phones with functional designs, but this new Cyber-shot looks quite sleek and sexy and the colour scheme will set it apart from the plethora of silver and black handsets doing the rounds. Sony Ericsson boldly states that the K770i can take pictures as good as a dedicated digital camera and pictures can apparently be printed up to A4 size.
The handset features auto focus and can also be used for shooting video and comes with a photo light for those shots in the dark and sliding lens cover which fires up the camera as soon as it's opened. In camera mode, the phone's 1.9 ins colour display becomes the viewfinder and the camera's different features - including Photo fix, picture size and photo light - appear on the screen in the form of eight lit icons, also known as I-click shortcuts.
