3 describes its neXt website as a gateway to independently developed internet applications for mobiles. The new website will catalogue each application, describe and review the functionality and offers users a link to download the app.

At launch, neXt will feature social networking applications from Jaiku, maps from Mapsolute, a mobile-friendly version of Wikipedia, and a photo upload service from Shozu.

Because the applications rely on a higher than usual amount of internet use, it believes it compliments the larger data packages available through the X-series.

3's X-series launched last November and its current range includes the Nokia N73, Sony Ericsson W950i and the Nokia E65.
