Sony Ericsson launches new W580i Walkman phone

Sony Ericsson is combining street credibility with an active lifestyle on its latest Walkman phone, the W580i. This slimline slider (14mm thick) is loaded with the exact same specs as the recently launched Walkman candybar, the W610i, but without autofocus on its two-megapixel camera while it also includes the fitness applications last seen in the W710i.

This means the W580i is EDGE-enabled and arrives with a QVGA-quality display, full HTML web browser, quad-band capabilities, built-in FM radio, support for 3D gaming and integrated picture blogging.

As you would expect the W580i is loaded with the latest Walkman 2.0 music player and includes music recognition TrackID technology, support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ music files while a supplied 512MB Memory Stick Micro stores your tunes. It can also wireless stream your music to compatible headphones and speakers via the A2DP Bluetooth profile.

Meanwhile, the fitness apps will count your steps, your calories and monitor your running speed/distance/time. The W580i comes in Style White and Urban Grey finishes and will be available around late Summer/early Autumn time.
