HTC launches new P4350 Windows smartphone

The new HTC P4350 Windows powered smartphone closely resembles Mobile Choice's Smartphone of the Year, the TyTN, sporting a full sliding QWERTY keypad and running off the latest Windows version 5.0 OS. However, where the TyTN supported 3G and mobile broadband HSDPA, the P4350 only reaches the fastish speeds of EDGE. Still, at least the P4350 hasn't copped out on the other connections options, sporting built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and quad-band capabilities (you can make and receive calls in Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Asia. The P4350 is also a lot thinner at 17mm thick compared to the 22mm TyTN.

Other Windows smartphone features and duties are all present and correct including Windows Direct push email client, mobile Internet Explorer browser, contact, calendar and Outlook synchronisation and the ability to work on your Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents A 2.8-inch stylus-driven touch screen is on hand for easy navigation while it carries 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM, plus a microSD card slot for memory expansion. While it hasn't been confirmed it also looks like HTC has omitted a camera, which may contribute to its slimline chassis. News of a UK release has yet to be confirmed.
